The Wi-Fi power in the Cradlewise smart crib is 10 times lower than a mobile phone. A phone emits 320mW, whereas Cradlewise emits 31mW in bassinet mode (the field strength experienced is even less in crib mode since your baby is farther from the access point). Other smart cribs have Wi-Fi directly under your baby, inside the crib itself. Ours is within the arc, as far away as it can get.
We are FCC certified, and it is a mandatory certification for all consumer products using WiFi.
SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) tests are needed when the device is meant to operate in close proximity for long durations — less than 20cm (~8 inches). We don’t fall in that category, so we don’t need to test for SAR. On the other hand, mobile phones and wearables need a compulsory test. We can just manage with FCC emission/interference tests, which we do. Our entire product is FCC-certified.
